Bail to Bloodbath: Stalker Accused in POCSO Case Murders Six in Telangana, Including Own Family

Telangana, India – In a horrifying sequence of events that has sent shockwaves across Telangana, a 35-year-old man, recently granted anticipatory bail in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case, stands accused of brutally murdering six people on Friday night, July 10, 2026. The victims include the 16-year-old girl who had filed the stalking complaint against him, her mother and grandmother, and tragically, his own wife and two young sons. The accused, identified as P. Rajkumar, is currently the subject of an intensive manhunt across the Ranga Reddy district.

A Night of Unspeakable Violence

The rampage unfolded late Friday night across two separate locations in the Shabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district, approximately six kilometers apart. According to Telangana Police, Rajkumar first targeted the family of the minor girl around 10:45 PM. He arrived at their home, and when the girl's mother, identified as Chityala Lakshmi, opened the door, she was allegedly attacked with a knife and killed on the spot. Rajkumar then reportedly entered the house and murdered the girl's 60-year-old grandmother, Chityala Rukkamma, who was asleep. The 16-year-old complainant was then forcibly taken by Rajkumar in his car to a lake in his native village of Daivalaguda, where she was stabbed to death and her body left near the lake bund. Investigators allege that the minor girl was also sexually assaulted before her death. Notably, the girl's 20-year-old mentally challenged sister, who was present in the house, was left unharmed.

The horror did not end there. Rajkumar then proceeded to his own home, arriving around 11:20 PM. There, he allegedly slit the throats of his 31-year-old wife, Parvathi Saritha, and their two young sons, aged four and 18 months, while they were asleep. After committing these heinous acts, Rajkumar reportedly called his father, confessed to the killings, and indicated an intention to take his own life, before fleeing the scene. His father promptly informed the police, who immediately launched an investigation.

The Stalking Complaint and Bail Controversy

The tragic events are rooted in a complaint filed against Rajkumar by the minor girl's family in May of this year. The complaint accused him of stalking and harassing the 16-year-old, alleging he repeatedly followed her from her coaching institute to her home and pressured her to accept his romantic overtures. A case was registered against Rajkumar under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Following his arrest on May 26, Rajkumar was granted anticipatory bail in June, approximately a week before the murders. He was released on a personal bond of ₹20,000, as the specific offenses he was booked for under the POCSO Act carried a maximum punishment of less than seven years, making him eligible for such bail. This detail has drawn significant scrutiny and public outcry, with questions being raised about the adequacy of protection provided to complainants in serious criminal cases, especially when the accused is released on bail.

Police Response and Community Outcry

Upon receiving the confession from Rajkumar's father, police swiftly responded to both crime scenes. The bodies of all six victims were sent for post-mortem examinations. Multiple special teams, reportedly numbering seven, have been formed to trace and apprehend Rajkumar, who remains at large. Authorities state that while a deep-seated grudge against the minor girl is suspected as a primary motive, the exact reason for the brutal murders of his own wife and children is still under investigation. Reports suggest that Rajkumar had a history of behavioral issues, including a gambling addiction and mounting financial debts, which may have contributed to his disturbed state.

The horrific nature of the crimes has deeply shaken the local community in Ranga Reddy district. Residents and family members of the victims have staged protests, demanding immediate justice and questioning the effectiveness of the legal system in protecting victims. The incident highlights persistent challenges in addressing stalking and violence against women and minors, particularly the perceived vulnerabilities of complainants after legal action is initiated against alleged perpetrators.

Broader Implications

This devastating incident has reignited urgent discussions about the efficacy of bail provisions in cases involving stalking and serious allegations, particularly under the POCSO Act. It underscores the critical need for a thorough review of existing safeguards for victims and their families, especially when an accused individual is released from custody. The case also brings into sharp focus the complex interplay of personal grievances, mental state, and societal failures that can culminate in such extreme acts of violence. As the manhunt continues, the community awaits answers and justice for the six lives tragically lost, hoping that such a catastrophe can be prevented in the future.
